Greek owner CM Lemos has signed a preliminary contract for up to four suezmax newbuildings at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea.
The Michael Lemos-controlled company is thought to be paying between $66m and $67m each for the 160,000-dwt tankers, in what has been an unfashionable sector of the crude market.
Lemos has inked a letter of intent (LOI) for two firm vessels at the world’s largest shipbuilder in a deal that contains a couple of options, shipbrokers say.
