The Chinese nationals were killed when an Indian vessel of about 50,000 dwt caught fire on Tuesday morning at Haizhou Shipyard in Zhoushan.
Local reports said smoke was detected, followed by a blast while repairs were being carried out.
The tanker was not carrying a cargo.
AIS data shows the 47,000–dwt Oaktree (built 1993)positioned at the yard. It was bought by India’s Seven Islands Shipping lastmonth as Theresa Crystal for $8m.
