Greek businessman Nikolaos Vafias is making a shipowning comeback in the dry cargo sector five years after handing control of the family business to his son Harry Vafias.
His new company, Eco Dry Ventures, has purchased its first vessel during the past week and has plans for further additions.
It has bought the 33,100-dwt Venus Ocean (built 2012), Harry confirms, at a price brokers have suggested to be $22.2m.
