British Marine has secured a third attachment order to secure assets in a $21.3m dispute with Aavanti Shipping & Trading over an allegedly defaulted contract of affreightment (COA).
The order by Judge Brian Cogan, of the US federal court in Brooklyn, covers all of New York state’s Long Island and Staten Island but is particularly focused on assets at WEGO Chemical & Mineral Corp, which is thought to be a consignee for castor-oil shipments by companies affiliated with Aavanti.
