South Korean feeder liner Namsung Shipping is taking advantage of rock-bottom newbuilding prices to invest in new tonnage.

The company says it has inked three 1,850-teu vessels at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea for delivery in the first half of 2013.

The ships will trade in Southeast Asia — from South Korea to Thailand and Vietnam via Hong Kong. Namsung currently uses ships of around 1,000 teu on the route.
