He evokes strong and often mixed emotions - some unprintable - from those in the industry who have worked with or alongside him but on the whole he wins admiration for his abilities as a broker.
He says he ducked out of pursuing studies at the London School of Economics and went straight into shipping in 1973 with a job at a British liner company, which at the time was attempting to move into the bulker sector.
His
