The first South Korean-built LNG carrier to be fitted with a dual-fuel diesel-electric (DFDE) propulsion system is nearing delivery, marking something of a milestone in LNG propulsion.
BP named the British Emerald , the first of four 155,000-cbm GEM-class ships, in April at Hyundai Heavy Industries. Delivery is set for the end of June.
The British Emerald is not the first DFDE vessel.
