Halkidon Shipping of Greece has sold its last 1970s-built combined carrier for demolition. Brokers say the 78,000-dwt Astano-built Konpolis (built 1979) has been sold to China for $207 per ldt or $4m.
In February last year Halkidon and its London company Southern Shipping & Finance sold another OBO, the 78,000-dwt Eptalofos (built 1979), for scrap and in December the 53,000-dwt OBO Byzantion (built 1979) was also sold for demolition.
