The diving expedition last month was a joint venture between American millionaire and former diver, Gregg Bemis, and German film-maker, Jutta Rabe. The expedition's film has already reportedly been sold to Estonian and Swedish TV, but some former members of the tripartite commission into the sinking have dismissed the video footage after seeing it as "nothing new".
One of the authors of the counter-report commissioned by the German builder of the Estonia, Meyer Werft, has, however, said the video apparently shows the ramp hooks were never fully attached, meaning the ramp was left open in a chilling echo of the Herald of Free Enterprise disaster.
