South Korea was poised this week to seal its first-ever cruiseship order.
The shipbuilding nation, which has been eyeing the cruiseship industry for more than a decade, could finally enter the sector with a $1bn deal for a newbuilding for Utopia Residences of the US.
Market sources confirm recent rumours that Utopia is on the verge of firming up a contract with Samsung Heavy Industies for a 105,000-gt luxury residential cruiseship for delivery in 2014.
