Italy’s Coeclerici Logistics has signed up to build a floating coal transhipment terminal out of a barge in Indonesia.
The EUR 20m ($24.47m) deal with Berau Coal involves constructing the facility to optimise the moving of coal from the mines in Latin, Benignant and Sabarmati, located in the north-eastern portion of the island of Borneo, on to bulkers.
The new unit, which is currently under construction, is an 11,000-gt barge fitted with a structure specifically conceived to transfer coal coming from the mainland on local barges to panamax and capesize bulkers.
