Logistics group Rhenus has taken a stake in German shipmanager Arkon Shipping with an eye on growth.
It said that its investment would take the form of a 40% increase in its share capital.
Arkon manages a fleet of more than 120 sea-going vessels, including containerships and bulkers.
"The shareholding should be viewed as part of growth strategies," Rhenus added.
The two companies are also setting up a joint KG investment company, Rhenus-Arkon-Shipinvest, to further expand the fleet.
