SCF Group of Russia has placed an order for the world’s first LNG-fuelled aframax tanker newbuildings in a groundbreaking move made in collaboration with energy major Shell to reduce fuel emissions.
SCF has contracted four firm 114,000-dwt, ice-class IA newbuildings and pencilled in a string of options at Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) in South Korea under what the owner and major have dubbed the “Green Funnel” project.
