SBM adds ex-Gener8 VL to Navig8 pool

SBM looks to have placed a recently acquired VLCC tanker in the Navig8 VL8 VLCC pool, TradeWinds understands.

Navig8 confirmed in a statement that SBM’s 300,985-dwt Gene (built 2003) would join the pool later this month.

The crude tanker is thought to be the Gener8 Ulysses (built 2003) which was reported sold to SBM for conversion into an FPSO.

TradeWinds reported that the Dutch offshore contractor had acquired the Hyundai Samho-built tanker in early December 2016 for $31m.
