According to Chennai sources, five offshore newbuildings comprising 150-tonne-bollard–pull anchor handlers (AHTS) and 3,400-dwt platform supply vessels (PSVs) were damaged.
The newbuildings were part of a $260m, 10-ship series of six PSVs and four AHTS units ordered in 2012 and 2013 by Qatar-based Halul Offshore Services, according to sources.
They say two of the newbuildings have been refloated in recent days, while efforts are being made to refloat the other three.
