A Chinese sovereign wealth fund is still a major investor in one of US commerce secretary nominee Wilbur Ross’ flagship shipping investments as the billionaire prepares for a review process before the Senate.
China Investment Corp (CIC) remains on a list of key investors in private tanker outfit Diamond S Shipping, according to the Connecticut-based company’s website.
CIC is listed as one of the companies that took part in an expansion of the Diamond S shareholder base in 2011 under the direction of WL Ross & Co, which was Ross’ primary investment vehicle.
