A Saga Welco ship that ran into trouble in the English Channel yesterday, colliding with a rock barge, is now heading to France for repairs.
The 47,000-dwt Saga Sky (built 1996) lost steering and power before the collision on Sunday and 11 of crew members were winched from the ship.
It was towed to a safe anchorage at Dungeness, with the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency stating last night the vessel was awaiting a port of refuge.
