The Liberian-registered, 1,400-teu ship suffered an engine-room fire near the Kiel lighthouse in October last year while en route from Gdynia to the German port of Bremerhaven.
The main engine was stopped automatically and the fire was extinguished when the air tight integrity of the engine room was secured.
No pollution or injury was caused by the accident.
However, the ship suffered “serious damage” in the main engine room when leaking lubricating oil caught fire.
