Antwerp-based Delphis, the shortsea liner operator and shipowner set up two years ago by Alexander Saverys, has acquired TeamLines from owner Finnlines for a debt free price of EUR 40m ($51m).
Buying the second largest container feedership operator in northern Europe will instantly give Delphis a ranking among the top five common feeder carriers in the world.
Delphis, will operate 45 ships and have a turnover of more than EUR 340m in 2006 as a result of the takeover.
