India's Mercator has sold its last-but-one bulker for scrap.

The company confirmed the disposal of the 69,000-dwt Sri Prem Poorva (built 1994) to Natalia Shipping for INR 247m ($3.78m).

Proceeds from the deal will pay off debt on the ship.

The transaction leaves Mercator with a single 1997-built bulker, as well as tankers, dredgers, FSOs and a gas carrier.

TradeWinds reported at the end of September that the panamax had been sold into Bangladesh.
