A Maersk Line vessel hit by fire last month is set to be scrapped.

The Danish company is preparing to recycle the 2,902-teu Maersk Pembroke (built 1998), a spokesperson confirms.

TradeWinds reported in August that the Maersk Pembroke had been struck by fire while off the coast of Ireland.

Following the incident it was towed to Rotterdam for inspection.

Shipbrokers this week suggested a $302 per ldt demolition sale had been agreed with a Turkish greec recycling yard.
