French owner Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) has widened its expertise with a contract to transport a European Space Agency (ESA) satellite.

The 3,120-lane-metre ro-ro Ciudad de Cadiz (built 2009) loaded the 1.33-tonne Aeolus machine at the Montoir de Bretagne terminal in France on 15 June.

It is bound for Kourou in French Guiana.

The vessel is one of those chartered to Airbus, which designed the satellite.
