ConocoPhillips is close to selecting a yard partner to develop its concept for a floating LNG production unit.
South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering has emerged as the frontrunner for the technology development contract after a tender earlier this year, according to sources.
Samsung Heavy Industries had previously been tipped for the business.
The yard partner is expected to focus on the hull engineering for two sizes of FLNG vessel.
