French containment system designer GTT and Alstom Group’s former shipyard arm Chantiers de l’Atlantique of France are due to meet in London’s High Court Monday in a long-running legal fight over three LNG carrier newbuildings.
It remains unclear whether the case, which challenges the result of confidential arbitration proceedings, will be held in public.
Chantiers is expected to argue that GTT acted fraudulently by hiding and manipulating test results and withholding facts relating to a new type of LNG carrier containment system CS1, which had been fitted to the three ships and necessitated lengthy and costly repairs.
