Ukraine’s government has invited Qatar to help with the construction of its maiden LNG import terminal.
Prime Minister Mykola Azarov suggested the cooperation during a meeting with Qatari counterpart Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani.
Ukraine has already revealed it is chasing LNG supply deals with Qatar, as well as Egypt, Algeria and Nigeria for the terminal.
The State Agency for National Projects is planning to install a 5 billion cubic metres per annum floating storage and regasification unit near an oil terminal in the port of Yuzhny.
