LNG imports into the United Kingdom this summer are projected to spike at 9 billion cubic metres of gas equivalent, up from 8 Bcm in 2010.

The forecast comes as part of the National Grid’s Summer Outlook report, released today, which said the increase in LNG deliveries “reflects the increase in LNG import capacity”.



However, the grid operator claims its forecast takes into account the fact that the volumes will be somewhat constrained as a result of the nuclear crisis in Japan.



“Our
