A swath of regasification projects in the pipeline could see Italian LNG import capacity soar but doubts remain over how many will survive an infamously difficult planning system.
One analyst reckons import capacity could reach 76.5 billion cubic metres per annum by 2016, up from 11.5 Bcma last year. This would represent average growth of 31.6% per year, according to GlobalData’s Upendra Pilli.
