Shareholders in the South Hook LNG terminal in the United Kingdom have proposed a gas-fired power plant at the import facility.
Qatar Petroleum, US-based ExxonMobil and France’s Total have submitted a scoping report to the National Infrastructure Planning authority for the 500-megawatt, combined-cycle plant.
The generating facility will “produce sufficient electricity to both meet the existing LNG terminal's power needs and to export surplus electricity,” they said.
