The Sierra Club is claiming the power to block Dominion Resources' export plans as a result of a 1970s legal settlement.
The US environmental group said it will reject any changes to Dominion Cove Point LNG the same day that the US utility announced two export deals at the import facility where the company plans to build two liquefaction trains.
The Sierra Club claims exporting LNG from the terminal will harm Chesapeake Bay, coastal forests and the local economy.
