US-based Cheniere Energy has requested confirmation that it can pursue bi-directional LNG trading at the Sabine Pass terminal in Louisiana without violating capacity release rules.
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission rules prevent pipeline players from buying gas and then selling it to the same party on the other side of the pipe.
As it works to add liquefaction capacity at the import terminal, Cheniere wants to make sure it does not fall astray of the so-called buy/sell rule.
