The newly opened Rudong import terminal in China’s eastern province of Jiangsu has logged a throughput of 560,000 cubic metres of LNG since its May start-up.
The bulk of the shipments to the 3.5 million tonnes per annum facility have come from Qatar under a long-term deal between PetroChina and production partners Qatargas and Shell.
Operated by the Chinese company’s Hong Kong-listed arm Kunlun Energy, the terminal has fed 230 million cubic metres of natural gas into the grid, according to local reports.
