Latvia’s Economics Ministry has revealed that Riga would be the prime location for a regional LNG terminal to serve the Baltics.

The Latvian city was favoured in a pre-feasibility study drawn up by state-owned outfit Latvenergo due to existing infrastructure that allows for a quicker start-up and lower costs.

Latvia is the first of the Baltic states to complete its study, with Lithuania and Estonia still to reveal findings of their own.
