Regasified LNG to power medical device and condom factories

Indian importer Petronet LNG has scored a downstream deal with public sector healthcare and family planning outfit HLL Lifecare.

Under a memorandum of understanding, HLL has agreed to buy regasified LNG to power its factories of condoms and medical devices at Peroorkada and Akkulam.

The company is expected to need 1 to 1.2 tonnes per day, which would be supplied at a cost of 280,000 rupees ($6,303).
