LNG import forecasts at the US Energy Information Administration have rebounded to an average of 1.2 billion cubic feet per day for 2011.
This represents a 9% increase on its prior estimate of 1.1 Bcfd and puts imports back in line with earlier forecasts of 1.21 Bcfd.
EIA’s latest figure represents a 3% decrease on 2010 figures.
The estimate comes as “modest declines” are expected in US natural gas production this year.
