Thailand’s PTTEP is studying whether to build its proposed floating LNG production unit with the ability to move between three locations in Australian waters of the Timor Sea.
The proposal would put to test a still-unanswered question in the nascent sector: can floaters truly be made adaptable enough to be redeployed? The company is still examining what it calls option two, which involves keeping the unit above the Cash-Maple field in retention licence AC/RL7.
