India’s Petronet LNG has tied down a short-term supply deal with Gas Natural Fenosa.

The Spanish gas player will provide 1.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 financial years.

Petronet, which operates the Dahej LNG terminal, racked up record net profits of 6.2 billion rupees ($140 million) for the 2010-11 fiscal year.

The company pointed to “increased volume and increased efficiency in operations” as the source of the improved performance.
