Finnish ship engine maker Wartsila has indicated that the market for LNG carriers looks set to recover quicker than originally expected.
“The interest in LNG carriers going forward is clearly on the increase and that of course has to do with recent developments in the energy and electricity generating sector globally,” said chief executive Ole Johansson.
“But as such it is not a phenomenon that’s a surprise to us, it is a development which we had been expecting already for quite a while, but now it appears that it might be recovering even faster or even stronger than we expected,” he added.
