Lundin has hit gas at its Skalle exploration well in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea, providing fresh reserves that could be fed to the Snohvit LNG plant.
The Swedish oil and gas company estimated the field contains a modest 88 billion to 280 billion cubic feet.
The find’s commercial prospects are boosted, though, by its position just 25 kilometres north of the main Snohvit field.
