The Municipal Council of Klaipeda has finally endorsed anEnvironmental Impact Assessment report for a new Floating Storage andRegasification Unit.

Twenty two members of the council voted in favour of thefloating terminal yesterday, five voted against and two abstained, according tothe Baltic Course.

On March 2, the majority state-owned Klaipedos Nafta which isimplementing the project announced that it signed a ten-year lease withNorway’s Hoegh for the FSRU at a cost of US$689 million.
