InterOil has tied up two heads of agreement with unnamed off-takers covering around 2 million tonnes of LNG over 10 to 15 years from its projects in Papua New Guinea.
The oil and gas company is also in discussions with one or two “experienced” parties for more off-take deals, it said. “LNG buyers do not engage in formal negotiations, and these are formal, unless you have a good handle of your cost,” said Conrad Kerr, head of LNG marketing for InterOil’s Liquid Niugini Gas joint venture with Pacific LNG.
