Tanzania this week took a major step towards joining the league of LNG exporting nations.
African-focused explorer Ophir Energy and UK-based BG Group have made a third gas discovery off the country’s coast.
“There are now early indications that there could be sufficient volumes of gas present within the acreage held by Ophir to support the construction of one or more liquefied natural gas processing facilities, which will allow for the export of gas to world markets,” Ophir managing director Alan Stein said this week.
