Bio-LNG proponent Holland Innovation Team has secured permits for the first phase of a bunkering station in the Netherlands.
The biofuels technology company has teamed up with bunker supplier A Noble to develop the facility at Zwijndrecht near Rotterdam.
HIT plans to begin the project by using an LNG truck to fuel inland navigation vessels.
Construction of a permanent bunkering station with a 500 cubic-metre storage tank could begin as early as this year, said HIT boss Peter van der Gaag.
