GDF Suez-controlled import facility GNL Mejillones is in talks with several northern Chilean mining outfits over long-term terminal use agreements.
The discussions are part of the terminal operator’s shift from its current role as a gas supplier to a provider of regasification and LNG storage services, a company executive said.
“We will not be selling gas anymore,” he added.
Existing three-year gas supply agreements are scheduled to end next year.
