French utility GDF Suez signed a deal to supply a subsidiary of Malaysian national oil company Petronas with 2.5 million tonnes of LNG over three and a half years.
The agreement will kick in from August 2012, when GDF will begin supplying cargoes from its LNG portfolio to the Asian country.
“This mid-term agreement with Petronas LNG Ltd confirms GDF Suez’s ambition in Asia as one of the core development regions for its LNG business, with strong growth prospects and new supply potential,” said GDF.
