Gasum has teamed up with the Finnish Port of Turku to pursue an LNG import terminal in Pansio harbour.
The small-scale developer signed a letter of intent for the construction of a €60 million ($75 million) plant that could come online by the end of 2015.
Gasum carried out a technical survey that found Pansio harbour in the south-west of Finland to be well suited for an import terminal in the Turku area.
The site has the space for a 20,000 cubic-metre storage tank and regasification infrastructure.
Volumes from the terminal could then be shipped by bunker vessels or truck to Turku port itself.
