Chilean power company GasAtacama has given pre-qualified bidders an extra two weeks to submit their offers for a floating LNG import terminal.



Five contenders, including Excelerate Energy, Golar LNG and Hoegh LNG, were originally due to reveal their hands at the start of this month but the deadline has now been pushed back to 18 July.



GasAtacama is said to be seeking a unit capable of sending out 150 million to 200 million cubic feet per day of gas to meet an anticipated surge in demand from its mining company customers from 2015.
