Gail is currently assessing whether to charter in vessels or take on newbuildings on a part-ownership basis for two floating storage and regasification units it is looking to deploy off India.

A spokesman for the company said both options would be studied over the next four to six months. He said concurrently Gail is looking for project partners that can bring their own LNG to the table and future tenders may request the provision of some 30% to 40% of the volumes required for the planned terminals.
