Excelerate Energy looks set to scoop the contract to provide Brazilian giant Petrobras with a third floating storage and regasification unit.



The US-based company is said to have undercut Golar LNG in a final round of fierce bidding, according to industry sources. Hoegh LNG is said to have been in third place.



Both Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Samsung Heavy Industries are rumoured to have held talks with the winner over constructing the 170,000-cbm FSRU newbuilding for the job.
