Energy major Shell aims to award a front-end engineering and design contract in January for its giant LNG floating storage, production and offloading unit.
Project sources reported that would-be consortium members have attended two key meetings on the business in The Hague.
Yards and their joint venture contractors received bid documents for the unit in June.
The line-up of pre-qualified teams includes Samsung Heavy Industries with French contractor Technip, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering with JGC of Japan, and Hyundai Heavy Industries with Japan’s Chiyoda.
