Tokyo Electric Power Company has received 60,000 tonnes of LNG from Japanese utility Chubu Electric Power.
The cargo was diverted from one of Chubu’s facilities to help Tepco ramp up its LNG unit at Goi thermal plant, which was restarted yesterday, reported Reuters.
Tepco’s 300 megawatt No 2 unit at Goi had been shut down following last week’s earthquake and tsunami.
Chubu follows a number of other companies rushing to supply the worst affected areas of Japan.
